Make It Shine Again Part Two

Last week I started a series called Make It Shine Again. It's full of tips on ways you can make old jewelry shine again with little to no effort. I started out with silver. And this week I'm going for the gold.
Ever looked at your rings or necklaces? There is all sorts of crud that builds up in the crevices of the gold. Start out by giving your gold jewelry a bubble bath. Pour a few drops of mild dish soap into a small bowl of club soda. Yes, I repeat club soda. Make sure it is sodium free. When you think of sodium think of salt. Think about what happens to your car when there is too much salt. So avoid sodium when cleaning gold. The carbonation loosens soil and debris on your jewelry. And then allow the jewelry to soak for a few minutes. Make sure you rinse the piece and pat it dry.

Do any of you have tips for cleaning jewelry?
